Volunteers needed at Guildford High Street shop

Could you volunteer at Phyllis Tuckwell's Guildford High Street shop?

Inside Guildford High Street shop

Located at the top of the High Street, this lovely shop offers an amazing range of preloved items. With a large collection of framed and unframed artwork, modern and classical furniture, and antiques, it's a treasure trove you’ll love to help customers explore. You'll join a knowledgeable and talented team who, as well as running the shop, also upcycle outdated and worn-out furniture, giving scratched coffee tables new chess board tops for example, and reupholstering threadbare chairs with modern fabrics.

If you love meeting people, have a particular interest in art, antiques or upcycling, or are looking for a volunteering role to boost your CV or help you get back into the workplace after some time off, this would be the perfect role! You’ll also know that you’re helping to support a vital local charity. All of the money raised by Phyllis Tuckwell’s shops goes directly towards helping fund the palliative and end of life care that it provides for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness.

“Our Guildford High Street shop is part of a bustling town centre and has lots of customers, many of whom are regulars,” said Julia Morpeth, voluntary services manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “Our volunteers are hugely important to us, and we really value the time, knowledge and experience that they so generously give to our organisation. We provide them with initial and ongoing training and support, and make sure they feel welcomed and settled into their roles.”

Please help us

All our services are free, but this is only possible due to the generosity of our amazing community. The Government/NHS only provide 25% of our costs, so we need to raise over £30,000 every day to provide our vital services.

Please donate what you can to help keep hospice care available to all those in our community who need us.
