The Beacon Centre

Guildford Directions

Our Beacon Centre is located on the site of the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford.

At the Beacon Centre, patients can access our Living Well services and attend outpatient appointments. Patients, families and carers have the opportunity to meet with our counsellors, Pastoral Care team, patient and family advisors and benefits advisors.

Our Hospice at Home team is also based at the Beacon Centre, and its nursing team visits patients who wish to die in the comfort and familiarity of their own home.

Kings Lodge

Camberley Directions

This is the home for our Hospice In-Patient Unit (IPU) throughout 2024 and 2025, whilst we build your new Hospice.

Phyllis Tuckwell is occupying 10 beds within a new separate wing of Kings Lodge care home in Camberley. Phyllis Tuckwell is run independently from the care home, so our admission processes, staffing and inpatient care will continue as currently. Please continue to refer to Phyllis Tuckwell in your usual way. Phyllis Tuckwell continue to work with our integrated care partners to enable access to the IPU and to support patients to be cared for at home, including the continuing development of our virtual ward.

The IPU offers 24/7 nursing and medical care for those who need to stay with us for a while, either for symptom management or end of life care. One in three patients whom we care for on our IPU return home following symptom control and pain relief.

If you feel that you should be under our care, please discuss this with your GP, District Nurse, Hospice Doctor or Macmillan Nurse, who can refer you to Phyllis Tuckwell.

Once your referral has been received, you will be assessed either in your home, at the Beacon Centre or Hospital by one of our specialist nurses or doctors.

Please help us

All our services are free, but this is only possible due to the generosity of our amazing community. The Government/NHS only provide 25% of our costs, so we need to raise over £25,000 every day to provide our vital services.

Please donate what you can to help keep hospice care available to all those in our community who need us.
