88 golfers have raised over £18,000 for local hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell, at the annual Hankley Common Golf Day, which was held on Wednesday 25th September.

Coffee and bacon rolls welcomed the golfers on arrival, before a shotgun start signalled the start of the 18-hole Stableford competition. Very impressively, one of the players succeeded in getting a hole-in-one on the day and very generously made a donation to Phyllis Tuckwell to celebrate!
“We would like to thank Hankley Common Golf Club and all of the golfers who took part in this hugely successful golf day,” said Fiona Chapman, Event Fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell. “£18,000 is a fantastic amount of money, which could cover the cost of the whole of our Living Well service for almost two weeks. Supporting over 630 patients a year, through individual and group sessions, medical, nursing and therapeutic care, practical advice and support, and group sessions for carers, this service is vital for patients and families who need help living everyday life with their illness.”
Phyllis Tuckwell would also like to say a special thank you to the Farnham Rotarians and Friends of Rotary for organising the most fantastic tombola, which alone raised over £800, and for providing the very much appreciated doughnuts that were shared at two points on the course. Thanks also to MOTest, Hazelbank Nursery, Automated Gate Solutions, DJK Electricals, The Private Office Real Estate and Knight Protection Ltd, all of whom sponsored the holes on the course.
