This family fun run is returning to 'Elf'etham Heath in Fleet this Christmas, at 11am on Sunday 13th December. It offers a 5k and a 2k route, with the 2k route fully accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs. The event will raise vital funds for local hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell. It's not a timed race, so you can walk, jog or run at your own pace, and dogs are welcome to join in too (on a lead). Registration includes a Santa t-shirt for adults and an elf t-shirt for kids, a festive hat, and everyone who takes part on the day will get a medal.
"This year we also have a colouring competition open to all children who enter the fun run," said Fiona Chapman, event fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell. "The Rotary of Hart have kindly donated three prizes of Smyths vouchers for the winners - £150 for first place, £75 for second place and £25 for third."
The fun run is held in partnership with the Rotary Club of Hart, supported by Elvetham Heath Parish Council, with headline sponsors Vale Furnishers and NTT, and supporting sponsor Triflex. The money raised will go directly towards helping fund the medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support that Phyllis Tuckwell provides for local patients, families and carers who are living with an advanced or terminal illness. As the NHS/Government usually only cover around 25% of its costs, it has to raise over £30,000 every single day to provide its care, which is why fundraising events like this are so important.
The Santa and Elf Fun Run will take place at The Key in Elvetham Heath. Register soon to get the early bird prices, which end on 31st October: £15 for adults (age 14+ yrs) who are raising sponsorship and £10 for children (age 4-13 yrs) raising sponsorship. For those not raising sponsorship, fees are £30 for adults and £15 for children. Infants (age 3 and under) are free.
