Take part in Phyllis Tuckwell’s fantastic Dash of Colour fun run to celebrate the opening of your new Hospice and raise money to fund its vital care.

This fabulously fun sponsored run will take place on Saturday 4th July at 1pm, at Frimley Lodge Park. It's not a race, so you can walk, jog or run it at your own pace. You can choose a 2.5k or 5k route, and on your way round you’ll be showered with colourful powder paint, to celebrate the opening of your amazing new Hospice!
By getting sponsored to take part, you’ll help provide expert medical, nursing, therapeutic, emotional and practical care for local people living with an advanced or terminal illness. Phyllis Tuckwell cares for over 2,200 patients a year, as well as offering emotional and practical support to their loved ones. However, the funding it receives from the NHS/Government usually only covers around 25% of its costs, which means it has to raise over £30,000 every single day to provide its services.
By raising just £27, you could pay for an hour’s care from one of its In-Patient Unit nurses. £40 could pay for a counselling session for a patient or relative, £75 could pay for three hours of physiotherapy support, and £130 could cover the cost of a Living Well group session, which supports patients earlier in their illness.
You can register with family, friends or work colleagues, and may like to take part in memory of a loved one whom Phyllis Tuckwell cared for. Registration will include a Dash of Colour t-shirt and a powder paint sachet, which you can use on the day to get the event off to a colourful start!
“There’s always such an uplifting, community feel to Dash of Colour, with people of all ages taking part - it’s the perfect way to celebrate the opening of your new Hospice,” said Ruth Masters, fundraising manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “Every penny raised through sponsorship will go towards helping us care for more local people who need our expert support. Come and join in - get friends and family together, and register to take part at www.pth.org.uk/dash-of-colour.”
Phyllis Tuckwell would like to thank its four colour station sponsors: Branston Adams, NTT, Forest Care and Brewers Decorator Centres. There is still space for two more colour station sponsors, so if you are a local business and would like to get involved, please email corporate@pth.org.uk
