Café Bridge sees a game of bridge played over multiple cafés and restaurants in a local area. Each pair of players is put into a group, and different groups start at different locations, where they play a round before moving to the next location. After each round the groups are mixed up, so pairs play different people throughout the day.

Two of Phyllis Tuckwell’s community fundraisers, Sam and Lucy, went along to the event and spent time chatting with the bridge players and selling raffle tickets. All of the profit from the event, along with the money raised through raffle ticket sales, will go directly towards helping fund the medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support that Phyllis Tuckwell provides for local patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness.

“It was really lovely to chat to some of the players at Café Bridge,” said Sam West, community fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell. “They were so enthusiastic about supporting our work; it was great to be able to tell them a bit more about the care that we provide and how the money they have raised will help.”

Thanks to the success of this event, organisers are already planning another Café Bridge event in Farnham on 16th September. To register your interest, email michael@cafebridge.org

Please help us

All our services are free, but this is only possible due to the generosity of our amazing community. The Government/NHS only provide 25% of our costs, so we need to raise over £30,000 every day to provide our vital services.

Please donate what you can to help keep hospice care available to all those in our community who need us.
