Phyllis Tuckwell provides vital palliative and end of life care to local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, and its volunteers help in every one of its teams. From welcoming patients and their loved ones on its In-Patient Unit, to driving patients to its Living Well sessions, and visiting them at home, Phyllis Tuckwell’s volunteers provide friendly, caring, professional support. Some are counsellors, complementary therapists, or art therapists, while others volunteer as trustees. Many help in its Finance, Marketing, Clinical Administration and IT & Estates teams, or help its Fundraising and Retail teams to raise the much-needed money that enables this charity to continue to provide its specialist care.
“We are so grateful to all our volunteers, who provide such amazing support to our patients, families, carers and staff,” said Julia Morpeth, voluntary services manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “They bring such a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience to our organisation, and are so kind and thoughtful, too. We really are so lucky to have them, and we would like to thank each and every one of them for their time and dedication.”
