A Christmas market held at St Thomas on the Bourne Church in Farnham has raised a wonderful £9,501.74 for local Hospice Care charity Phyllis Tuckwell.

The Christmas market included tables selling festive Christmas decorations, delightful crafts, stocking fillers, homemade delicacies, boutique clothes, and handbags. There was also a tombola, a raffle and a silent auction, which added to the total amount raised. As well as fundraising for Phyllis Tuckwell, the market also raised money for the church’s stained glass window fund.
“We would like to thank the organisers of this wonderful Christmas market for this very generous donation,” said Sam West, community fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell. “It was so kind of them to choose to support Phyllis Tuckwell through this festive Christmas event, and help us to continue providing our specialist care for those in our community who really need our help.”
Donations such as this are vital in helping fund the palliative and end of life care that Phyllis Tuckwell provides for local patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. Every day it supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers, through medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support, but as the NHS/Government only cover around 25% of its costs, it has to raise over £25,000 every day to do this.
