Join vehicle enthusiasts at an exclusive venue in Churt on Sunday 3rd August, for Phyllis Tuckwell’s hugely popular Motor Show.
Returning after an incredible response last year, when over 800 vehicles, from pre-war to post-2000 cars, motorbikes, Army vehicles and camper vans were exhibited, this year’s event promises an equally impressive selection. Over 450 vehicles have already been registered, from veteran, vintage and pre-war vehicles through to motorcycles, tractors and post-2000 supercars. They will be on display alongside a must-see private collection of over 60 pristine classic cars from 1903 to the present day, over 100 petrol pumps, and thousands of pieces of memorabilia, all belonging to the venue owners, Robert and Tanya Lewis. Music, refreshments and food vendors will add to the day, making it a wonderful event for families and friends to attend.
The event will raise money to help fund the local Hospice Care which Phyllis Tuckwell provides for patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. Every day, it supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers, though medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support. However, as the NHS/Government only cover around 25% of its costs, it has to raise over £25,000 every single day to do this. Last year’s Motor Show raised an amazing £50,000, enough to fund the whole of the charity’s Living Well services for almost three weeks. The Living Well service supports over 500 patients a year, through group programmes and individual appointments which give advice and guidance on managing living everyday life with their illness.
“We’re delighted to be invited back to this amazing venue for the Motor Show and would like to thank Robert and Tanya Lewis for once again hosting it,” said Ruth Masters, fundraising manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “Last year there was such a welcoming feel to the event, it really was a wonderful family day out. This year promises to be just as fantastic, and we hope to see you there!”
