The money was raised through the group's special performances of Carousel and Annie in 2025, and brings the total amount they have raised for Phyllis Tuckwell to an amazing £12,153 over 11 years! This fantastic amount of money has been raised through collections, proceeds from some of their ticket sales, and a virtual Sing-Along-a-Lock-Down production which they held.

David Tropman, Chair of FAOS Musical Theatre Group, recently presented a cheque for £1,272 to Helena Burke, community fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell.

“We’d like to thank David and everyone at FAOS Musical Theatre Group for this wonderful donation which will help fund the vital care that we provide,” said Helena Burke. “We need to raise over £25,000 every day to be able to offer all our services, which we provide free of charge to our patients and their families and carers. It’s only with the support of our generous local community that we can continue doing this, and we really are so grateful to FAOS Musical Theatre Group for this important donation.”

£1,272 is enough to cover the cost of one of Phyllis Tuckwell’s clinical nurse specialists for over a week. These nurses are often the first to visit newly referred patients. They assess patients’ symptoms and needs, and the needs of their families and carers, and refer them on to the appropriate team within Phyllis Tuckwell to support them, such as doctors, physiotherapists or counsellors.

“Amateur theatre is an important part of the Farnham community. FAOS Musical Theatre Group are delighted that through the joy of performance and the generosity of our audience, we can support another vital local charity, especially one which carries out such vital work that is so close to so many of our hearts,” said David Tropman.

Please help us

All our services are free, but this is only possible due to the generosity of our amazing community. The Government/NHS only provide 25% of our costs, so we need to raise over £25,000 every day to provide our vital services.

Please donate what you can to help keep hospice care available to all those in our community who need us.
