Beat those rainy-day blues with a sponsored half marathon that will get your adrenaline pumping and your endorphins soaring! Challenge yourself, meet other runners and raise vital funds for local charity Phyllis Tuckwell.
The Surrey Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 16th March. It will take runners on a loop starting at Woking Leisure Centre and heading out on closed roads into the beautiful surrounding countryside. If you don’t feel quite up to a half marathon, there’s also a 5km route which takes in some of the highlights of the full route, and a 2km race for kids. By registering through Run for Charity to raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell, you’ll receive a discount on your registration fee, and you’ll know that every penny you raise will go towards helping those who are facing the most difficult of times.
Phyllis Tuckwell provides palliative and end of life care for patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. As the NHS/Government only cover 25% of its costs, it has to raise over £25,000 every single day to be able to offer all of its services, which it gives free of charge to its patients and their families and carers. Sponsored events such as this are hugely important in helping it to raise this money, and your support will be greatly appreciated.
Phyllis Tuckwell’s Fundraising team will send you a sponsorship pack and provide you with all the support you need to take on this impressive challenge and raise as much money as you can.
