Get the kettle on for Phyllis Tuckwell and host your own tea-riffic Bake & Brew event, to raise vital money for local Hospice Care.
Phyllis Tuckwell’s tasty Bake & Brew fundraiser is back for May! Support local hospice care by joining with friends, family, neighbours or work colleagues to share a slice of cake and a brew. All you need are some delicious cakes or biscuits, and tea, coffee or even hot chocolate. Hold your event in the morning for a great way to kick off the day, or outside in the afternoon sunshine.
You can host it at home, at work, in your local village hall or at school, and even add a theme, games or raffle - the choice is yours! Ask those coming to make a donation for their tea, coffee and cakes, with all the money raised going directly to support the palliative and end of life care that Phyllis Tuckwell provides for local patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.
Every day, Phyllis Tuckwell supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers, through medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support. It provides all of its care for free, but as the NHS/Government only covers around 25% of its costs, it has to raise over £30,000 every single day to do this. You can help – simply by enjoying some lovely tea and cake with family and friends!
“Bake & Brew is running throughout May, so pick a date and let us know, and we’ll send you your free host pack,” said Lucy Shires, community fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell. “With information about hosting your event, bunting and cake toppers, it contains all you need to host a brew-tiful event. It also includes a fact sheet about our care, so you can tell those coming how their donations will help.”
All our services are free, but this is only possible due to the generosity of our amazing community. The Government/NHS only provide 25% of our costs, so we need to raise over £30,000 every day to provide our vital services.
