How the Make a Will campaign works

Simply get in touch with the solicitor or Will writer of your choice from the list provided and make an appointment with them directly. Each solicitor has a different process, so it’s best to speak to their office to arrange.  

At the appointment, explain what you want by telling the solicitor what assets you have and who you want to benefit in the event of your death. The solicitor / Will writer will tell you if it can be done as a “standard” Will. If it requires specialist advice, the solicitor / Will writer will tell you what can be included under the Make a Will campaign and give you a separate price for the remaining work. All solicitors / Will writers reserve the right to charge you a fee if your Will is not a simple one.  

The solicitor will tell you how much the firm would normally have charged for preparing your Will. You will be given a Phyllis Tuckwell donation form to complete and will be asked to make a donation that reflects the time and effort that the solicitor / will writer has given, with a suggested donation of £250 for a standard Will and £350 for mirror Wills.  

There is no obligation to include a gift to Phyllis Tuckwell in your Will. The solicitors / Will writers will, however, be able to advise you about the tax effectiveness of gifts in Wills and we hope that you will consider us.
