Course aims

  • Identify the key communication skills required to communicate needs, preferences and wishes of the patient and carer.
  • Enhance awareness of individualised tailored care to meet the needs and wishes of the patient in the last year of life.

 

Learning outcomes

  • Define Palliative and End of Life Care, exploring principles and considerations.​
  • Analyse communication barriers and skills, emphasising patient-centered approaches.​
  • Explore Advance Care Planning and symptom management strategies.​
  • Recognise dying processes and introduce Syringe Drivers for symptom control.
