Course aims
- Identify the key communication skills required to communicate needs, preferences and wishes of the patient and carer.
- Enhance awareness of individualised tailored care to meet the needs and wishes of the patient in the last year of life.
Learning outcomes
- Define Palliative and End of Life Care, exploring principles and considerations.
- Analyse communication barriers and skills, emphasising patient-centered approaches.
- Explore Advance Care Planning and symptom management strategies.
- Recognise dying processes and introduce Syringe Drivers for symptom control.
