- who have attended an evidence-based McKinley T34/BD BodyGuard T Syringe Pump training session within the last 3 years.
- who have completed formative and summative competence and have a copy of this signed and evidenced within your organisation.
- who have been setting up syringe pumps regularly and need an update as required by local policy.
- who have not been setting up syringe pumps regularly and require an update to increase confidence.
- who have current awareness of your organisation's guidelines and recent changes.
Course aims
- To refresh and increase competence and confidence in the safe use of syringe pumps.
Learning outcomes
- Review the use of syringe pumps including the benefits, operation of pumps and troubleshooting.
- Revise medication compatibility and conversions associated with oral and subcutaneous administration.
- Gain awareness of the ongoing MHRA and field safety notices that affect practice.
- Increase confidence and dexterity in handling syringe pumps.
