Turn Daily Walkies into Hospice Care Pounds

Here’s one for all the dog-lovers out there – a fundraising activity which you can do with your four-legged friend! Register for Phyllis Tuckwell’s September Walkies Challenge and cross off the milestones as you and your pooch walk 100k over the month, to raise money for local hospice care.

Once you’ve registered, Phyllis Tuckwell will send you a fundraising pack, including a sponsorship form which you and your dog can use to get your friends to sponsor you. It will also contain a tracker on which you can mark off your walkies over the month, to keep a track of how far you’ve both walked. When you have raised a minimum £15, you’ll receive a branded Phyllis Tuckwell bandana for your pooch! And if you wanted to match, you could buy a Phyllis Tuckwell t-shirt for yourself too!

Entry is free, and all of the money you raise will go towards helping Phyllis Tuckwell to continue providing its vital supportive and end of life care for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.

By raising just £15 you could pay for an hour’s care from its bereavement team, supporting the families and carers of its patients when their loved one has died. £50 could pay for two hours’ care from one of its nurses, who provide compassionate nursing care for its patients and important emotional support for their families too. £100 could pay for four hours’ care from one of its physiotherapists, who support patients to live as fully as they can and enjoy the best possible quality of life through all stages of their illness.
