If you love travelling, relish a challenge and enjoy meeting new people, then this one is for you! In September 2019, local Hospice Care charity Phyllis Tuckwell will be taking a team of hikers further than ever before on its first exclusive trip – to trek the Mont Blanc massif region!
This area of beautiful pine forests, lush meadows and clear blue lakes offers a challenging and varied terrain, and participants will trek for 6-8 hours a day as they cover part of the circular route around Mont Blanc. They’ll cross the border from Switzerland into Italy and then France, staying in mountain chalets and enjoying the stunning scenery.
Participants will be raising sponsorship money for Phyllis Tuckwell, which provides supportive and end of life care for patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer, in West Surrey and North East Hampshire. The trek is part of Phyllis Tuckwell’s 40th anniversary celebrations, celebrating the Hospice Care which the charity has provided for the local community since 1979, as well as helping to fund its next 40 years. It’s all about team spirit, and participants will bond through team training days and social evenings before they set off, ensuring that they know each other and feel part of the group before the trek begins.
The trek will take place from 12-16th September 2019. The registration fee is £345 and Phyllis Tuckwell asks that you raise a minimum sponsorship of £2,400 (self-funding places are available).
There will be an information evening at the Hospice on Waverley Lane, at 6.30pm on the 15th August. If you’re interested in finding out more, just drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to let Phyllis Tuckwell’s Fundraising team know you’ll be coming along. You can also email them at this address or call them on 01252 729446 if you’d like to request an information pack or want to sign up for the trek.
