People of all ages and backgrounds with compassion and sensitivity. For several years now, we have involved students who are interested in entering the caring professions and who are looking for an opportunity to gain experience and insight. We are also keen to support students undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Awards. All we ask is that volunteers are reliable, trustworthy and discreet in their involvement and are valuable ambassadors outside Phyllis Tuckwell as they share the vision and philosophy of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care with our community.
We are actively recruiting for a variety of roles across the organisation including but not limited to: patient drivers and escorts, shop helpers, receptionists, coffee shop helpers, van drivers and administrators.
Please contact the Voluntary Services team through the main switchboard on 01252 729400 or email voluntary.services@pth.org.uk for further details.
Phyllis Tuckwell is committed to involving members of our local community through providing opportunities for volunteering at the Hospice in Farnham, at the Beacon Centre in Guildford or in the wider community. Our volunteers enable us to complement and extend the existing services to patients and families in many ways, and also help in raising money to help fund our care. Their sense of commitment and enthusiasm is a positive contribution to Hospice Care and is a reminder of the support given so generously by the community to keep Phyllis Tuckwell running.
All of the help offered by volunteers is valued and meaningful. We have around 800 volunteers who help at Phyllis Tuckwell, so in total, give us tens’ of thousands of hours of their time every year!
