Register Now for Phyllis Tuckwell Summer Walk

Register now for Phyllis Tuckwell’s Walk for the Wards and enjoy a unique opportunity to explore the Hampton Estate, a beautiful 200-acre area of rich and diverse habitat, located just south of the A31, between Puttenham and Seale.

You can see for miles from the viewpoint on Phyllis Tuckwell’s new Walk for the Wards route.

This wonderful summer sponsored walk, which raises vital funds for local hospice care, offers a new route this year. The owners of the Hampton Estate have very kindly opened not only public but also private areas of the estate for the Walk, giving participants the chance to explore parts of this beautiful location within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which they would not otherwise be able to access.

The Walk will take place on Sunday 18th June and will raise funds for local hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell, which provides supportive and end of life care for local patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. You can choose between a five or ten mile route, both of which will take you through the estate’s parkland, meadows, grassland, heathland, chalk downland and woodlands, which are home to deer, songbirds, butterflies, red kites, buzzards and the Hampton herd of pedigree Sussex cows!

“The Walk will take place on Father’s Day, offering a lovely way for families to celebrate this special day together, or for those whose dads or grandads are no longer with us, to walk with friends and family in their memory,” said Fiona Chapman, Events Fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell.

All the money raised through donations and sponsorship will go directly towards helping fund the supportive and end of life care that Phyllis Tuckwell provides. As the NHS/Government usually only covers about 20% of its costs, it has to raise over £25,000 a day to provide its care, which is why events such as this are so important.

Entry is £10 for adults and £4 for children, and dogs are welcome (on a lead). Walkers can start their walk between 9.30 and 10am, and there will be a free ice cream at the end for all who take part, kindly sponsored by Spire Health. Register now at www.pth.org.uk/walk-for-the-wards and start raising sponsorship money.
