Play Your Cards Right for Hospice Care

Fancy a slice of cake with your game of Bridge? Or perhaps a glass of wine? Make your next bridge game extra special by supporting Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care. Bridge groups across Surrey and Hampshire are invited to help support this local charity and turn their next game into an exciting fundraiser by holding a bake sale, hosting an afternoon tea or even organising a wine raffle!

Your fundraiser could be a one-off or you could turn it into a regular quarterly or annual event, and you can choose how you fundraise. Perhaps you’d like to have a meal together before or after the game, hold a raffle, or introduce a sweepstake, playing fee or fines for the losing team. Whatever you decide to do, the fundraising team at Phyllis Tuckwell can support you with lots of different resources to help make your event a success. All of the money you raise will go directly towards helping fund the care which Phyllis Tuckwell provides for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. As the NHS/Government only covers 20% of its costs, Phyllis Tuckwell has to raise over £20,000 a day to be able to offer all of its services, which are given free of charge to its patients and their families.

“Every day we support over 250 patients, relatives and carers, but we couldn’t do this without the generous and continued support of our local community,” said Charli Quay-Barnham, Community Fundraising Manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “We’ve got lots of ideas to help you make your Bridge fundraiser a great event, so please do get in touch.”
