If you’ve got a head for heights and a heart for fundraising, now’s your chance to do something special for your local community. Hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell is looking for participants to sign up for its Spinnaker Tower abseil on Sunday 1st October, and you could be one of them!
This amazing experience will see you abseil 100 metres down the side of this iconic tower, enjoying incredible views across Portsmouth harbour and the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Participants must be aged 8 or over, making this a fantastic family experience. It will also be the last abseil that Phyllis Tuckwell will be offering at the Spinnaker Tower, so get in quick to reserve your place!
Registration is £30, with a sponsorship target of £250, and all of the money raised will go directly towards helping Phyllis Tuckwell to continue providing its vital supportive and end of life care to those in West Surrey and North-East Hampshire who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.
“Every day we support over 250 patients, relatives and carers, but as the NHS/Government usually only covers about 20% of our costs, we have to raise over £25,000 a day,” said Fiona Chapman, Events Fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell. “Taking part in this abseil will really help boost our funds, and support us to continue providing our care to those who really need our help.”
