Help us to support more patients and families who need us.
For over 40 years, we have cared for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. Through the years we have expanded and adapted our services, and now support over 250 patients, relatives and carers every day.
All the care we offer is given free of charge to our patients and their families, but as the NHS/Government usually only covers about 20% of our costs, we have to raise over £25,000 a day to do this. Your support will help us to continue to provide this vital care to those who need our help.
This will be the 12th year that we've run a Make a Will Scheme.
It is a great opportunity for you to support a local charity, raising your firm's profile and helping to make a difference locally.
It is a good way for you to get your firm's name in front of potential new clients.
The campaign will be supported with adverts in the local press with your firm's name and contact details. There will also be mass emails, postal mailings and a social media campaign.
The published dates of this year's campaign are the 1st - 30th April.
The number of appointments you book is up to each individual firm, but we would really appreciate it if you were able to provide up to 10 appointments.
We suggest a minimum donation of £250 per standard individual Will and £350 for Mirror Wills. We have kept the fees the same as last year, as our research suggests that this is felt to be very good value for money. Please could you make this donation structure clear to potential clients when they call to book an appointment, and explain that it is a saving against your regular fees?
£250 could pay for one of our Hospice Care at Home nurses for two days. These nurses care for patients who are spending their last days in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, with their loved ones by their side.
£350 could pay for twelve counselling sessions, helping patients and their loved ones with the emotional impact of living with an advanced or terminal illness, and supporting families through bereavement.
Our social media campaign is active from late February, and encourages people to sign up with their local participating solicitor. Please follow our campaign and like/repost/retweet our activity to your followers. We would also encourage you to involve your marketing team to generate content. We will share any messages that you generate, helping to push the message out to a wider audience.
As well as supporting an important local charity to raise much needed funds, Make a Will Month also generates local media coverage and positive awareness, providing your business with a great opportunity to attract new clients. Please use this opportunity to publicise your involvement via your website and local media.
Our publicity will consist of a mailing to around 1,000 local names, an e-shot to around 5,000 local names, adverts in parish magazines, the Herald and News & Mail newspaper groups.
The information and leaflets will be displayed in our 18 charity shops across the local area.
Your firm will also be listed on our website, and you'll be welcome to share this link with your customers, on your website and on your social media.
