Staff from Hi-Speed Services will be racking up the miles on Sunday 2nd October, but this time on foot, as they take part in this year’s virtual London Marathon. They will be raising money to support local charity Phyllis Tuckwell, and so far have raised £1,150 of their £2,000 target.

Hi-Speed Services is an international courier and logistics company, and Jamie, Jenny, John, Martin, Kim, Vicky, Mike & Eileen from its Ash Vale office will be running from there to The Swan pub, which is exactly a mile away, and back, 13 times. If you see them, do give them a cheer or a hoot of your horn to encourage them and show your support! If you would like to sponsor them to help them hit their £2,000 target, all donations would be very gratefully received. Please click here to make a donation.
“Hi-Speed are always on the move – but this time we’ll be using our legs!” said Martin Williams, Transport Manager at Hi-Speed Services. “We’re massive supporters of Phyllis Tuckwell and have been for a long time, and we’re really looking forward to taking on the London Marathon on home turf and raising some money for this incredible local charity. Phyllis Tuckwell does such an amazing job and we’re proud to be supporting them.”
“We would like to say a huge thank you and good luck to everyone from Hi-Speed who is taking part in the virtual London Marathon,” said Fiona Chapman, Events Fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell. “We really appreciate their support in helping to raise the vital funds which pay for the care we provide. £2,000 could pay for over two weeks’ care from one of our occupational therapists, who help patients to remain as independent as possible and improve their quality of life. They may suggest pieces of equipment which will help with everyday life, adaptions to the home to help keep patients mobile, or teach coping strategies to help patients and their carers manage fatigue, anxiety or breathlessness.”
