Goodbye Sarah, hello Sarah

Dear all,

I do hope you and your families are healthy and well in these extraordinary times.

As some of you may be aware, today is my last day as Chief Executive of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care.  It has been a great privilege to lead this organisation through considerable change and I am hugely proud of how we have developed services that are well beyond what we imagined when I joined back in 2005. All of this, of course, would not have been possible without the support of our local community, people like yourselves,  who always amaze me with their creativity, enthusiasm and generosity. This was demonstrated again this past weekend with the tremendous response to my request to help us rise to the challenges presented to us by the Coronavirus. I would like to thank you for your support over the years, not only to the charity, but also for the support shown to me personally.

As I pass the baton onto my successor, Sarah Church, who arrived a couple of weeks ago, I have every confidence in her and the team’s ability to continue supporting patients and families at the most difficult times in their lives. I know she is looking forward to meeting many of you, as circumstances allow. PTHC is currently working closely with our local healthcare partners to respond to the Coronavirus situation.  Once the current difficulties have passed I know that PTHC will continue to flourish and be able to support even more patients, their families and carers in our local communities.

Keep safe, keep well.

With best wishes

Sarah Brocklebank.
