With thanks to you
We have to raise over £20,000 a day, as the Government/NHS only provide 20% of our income.
Here are some of the many ways in which you could support us:
People of all ages and backgrounds with compassion and sensitivity. For several years now, we have involved students who are interested in entering the caring professions and who are looking for an opportunity to gain experience and insight. We are also keen to support students undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Awards. All we ask is that volunteers are reliable, trustworthy and discreet in their involvement and are valuable ambassadors outside Phyllis Tuckwell as they share the vision and philosophy of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care with our community.
All volunteers are offered an induction to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care and the work of the Hospice Care team. Further specific training is provided for the area where they will be based.
When your application form has been completed and received, you will be invited to attend an interview with a member of the Voluntary Services Team to discuss your offer of help. Volunteers are placed according to their interests, skills and experience along with the needs of Phyllis Tuckwell at the time. As our Hospice Care serves a vulnerable group of people, references will be taken up and a disclosure and barring check will be required for those who are volunteering in patient facing roles.
You can make an application to join our team of volunteers in any of the following ways:
Telephone us on 01252 729400 to request an application pack and we will put one in the post
Pop in to the Hospice to collect an application form
