Choose Your Sky-High Challenge

Rhianna Henson-Smith raised over £963 for Phyllis Tuckwell in memory of her dad, whom the charity cared for.

Send your adrenaline levels, and your fundraising, sky high with Phyllis Tuckwell’s abseil and skydive days. All of the money you raise will go directly towards providing hospice care for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.

The next skydive will take place on Saturday 30th September, at the UK’s largest skydiving drop zone, in Netheravon, Wiltshire. After an in-depth training session, you’ll be attached to an experienced tandem instructor aboard an aircraft, and at 12,000 feet you’ll make the jump! You’ll freefall for approximately 7,000 feet, at speeds in excess of 120mph, before your instructor deploys the parachute canopy and you begin your gentle five-minute descent to your designated landing zone. Registration is £50, with a minimum sponsorship of £450. If you can’t make the September date, don’t worry, as Phyllis Tuckwell holds skydive days in March, June and September each year, so there’s sure to be a date that suits you!

“The skydive was absolutely brilliant, something I will never forget, and I am so glad I did it. Anyone who is thinking of doing one, go for it!” said Rhianna Henson-Smith, who raised over £963 for Phyllis Tuckwell in memory of her dad, whom the charity cared for.

If you’d prefer to stay a bit closer to terra firma, then how about taking part in Phyllis Tuckwell’s last Spinnaker Tower abseil, on Sunday 1st October? You’ll abseil 100 metres down the side of the iconic Spinnaker tower, enjoying incredible views across Portsmouth harbour and the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Registration is £30, with a sponsorship target of £250.

“Our last Spinnaker Tower abseil will be a really special day, and we are looking forward to cheering on our amazing supporters as they take on this fantastic challenge!” said Fiona Chapman, Events Fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell. “Sign up now to be one of the last Phyllis Tuckwell Spinnaker Tower abseilers, or to take part in one of our amazing skydives, and look forward to some incredible views along with a huge adrenaline rush!”

Whichever challenge you choose, all of the money you raise will go directly towards funding the medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support which Phyllis Tuckwell provides.
