Phyllis Tuckwell has recently received a donation of £350 from Alder Valley Brass, who have supported the Hospice Care charity for over 20 years. The money was raised at the band’s annual street performances in Guildford, and increases the total amount they have donated to Phyllis Tuckwell over the years to in excess of £9,000.
Phyllis Tuckwell’s Community Fundraising Manager, Charli Quay-Barnham, visited Alder Valley Brass to thank them, and was presented with a cheque for £350.73 by the band’s Chairman, Roy Hancock.
“It was a pleasure to invite Charli to one of our rehearsal evenings, which we hold at All Hallows’ School in Farnham,” said Lyn Sandford, Trustee and PR Officer at Alder Valley Brass. “Phyllis Tuckwell is an important local charity and we are proud to be able to support them through our performances.”
“We are very grateful for the generous and ongoing support which we have received from Alder Valley Brass,” said Charli Quay-Barnham. “The performances they hold to support our local care are really wonderful. £350 could pay for eleven patients to have a session with one of our Occupational Therapists, who give advice and provide equipment to help patients maintain their personal independence and quality of life.”
Alder Valley Brass and the Guildford Vox Community Choir will be putting on a special concert in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell on Friday 25th October, at the Aldridge Theatre at Frensham Heights School.
