Beautiful Garden in Need of Volunteer Care

Are you a keen gardener with a few hours to spare during the week? If you love tending and nurturing plants, Phyllis Tuckwell would love to hear from you! The local hospice care charity is looking for volunteer gardeners to help care for the garden at its Beacon Centre in Guildford, which is situated on the site of the Royal Surrey County Hospital.

Phyllis Tuckwell is currently building a new Hospice on its existing site in Farnham, and has taken some of the plants from its old Hospice garden, to replant them at the Beacon Centre in the next month or so. These plants will need careful tending and watering once they have been replanted. The garden already boasts some lovely plants, and these new ones will add to the beauty and tranquillity that this wonderful outdoor space provides for Phyllis Tuckwell’s patients and their families. Making sure that this space is well looked-after and the plants are cared for is so important to Phyllis Tuckwell, and to have some more volunteers to help with this would be much appreciated.

If you have a love of gardening and are able to spare a few hours, on any day of the week, please contact Phyllis Tuckwell’s Voluntary Services team on 01252 729400 or email [email protected]. Even if you are only able to spare a little time, they would love to hear from you. Volunteers would need to bring their own gardening tools, as at present Phyllis Tuckwell doesn’t have anywhere to store tools on site.
