Fancy a pint? Well you can take your pick of the best at Phyllis Tuckwell’s inaugural beer festival. Tankards for Tuckwell, which will be held at The Empire on Aldershot’s High Street on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th October, promises over 60 ales and ciders, all from local breweries.
“We are very excited to announce our first ever beer festival,” said Laura Moody, Events Fundraising Manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “We’ll be offering ales and ciders from a huge range of local breweries, including: Ascot Ales, Triple fff, Surrey Hills, Little Beer Corporation, Tillingbourne Brewery, Tilford Brewery, Frensham Brewery, Hogsback, MASH Brewery, Little London Brewery, The Garden Cider Company, The Crafty Brewing Company, Mr Whiteheads Cider Company, Longdog Brewery, Itchen Valley and Vachery Farm Cider.”
Along with this wide range of tempting beverages will be live music from The Rocketeers, The Toledos and The Why Band, and a raffle will also help add to the profits. All monies raised by this event will go directly to help fund the vital care which Phyllis Tuckwell offers to patients and families who are living with a terminal illness, such as cancer. Every day it supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers – in their own homes, at the Hospice in Farnham and at the Beacon Centre in Guildford, but as the NHS/Government only covers 20% of its costs, it has to raise over £20,000 a day to do this, which is why fundraising events such as Tankards for Tuckwell are so important.
So whether you like a pale ale or a traditional bitter, a crystal rye or a porter, come and taste the hops – and support local Hospice Care!
Tankards for Tuckwell will be held from 7pm-11pm on Friday 6th October, and from 12pm-4pm and 7pm-11pm on Saturday 7th October. Tickets cost £10 each, and include a glass and a programme. You can buy yours now by calling 01252 729446 or visiting shop.pth.org.uk/beer-festival.
