Please join us to Walk for the Wards!
9 May, 2012
On Sunday 27 May 2012, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is hosting its annual Walk for the Wards event which starts and finishes at Crondall Village Hall. The route takes the walkers through the rolling Hampshire countryside and offers spectacular views stretching all the way to Bentley. Walkers will even be rewarded with a delicious free cream tea at the end of the walk as a reward for all their hard work.
Ideal for individuals, couples and families (and dogs on leads!), this popular sponsored walk offers either a 5 or 10 mile route. However, please note that as the majority of the route is off road, it is unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Registration before the day costs £12 for adults, £5 for teens (13-17) and £2 children (under 12). We encourage walkers to raise sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues, which is always hugely appreciated by the Hospice.
“Walk for the Wards is a significant event in the Hospice’s calendar,” says Ruth Scammell, Community and Events Fundraising Manager. “Both routes offer the perfect way to soak up the stunning countryside whilst raising valuable funds for the Hospice.”
You can register online now at www.pthshop.co.uk or call 01252 729446 for a registration pack. We are also looking for volunteer marshals to help direct and encourage our walkers. If you can spare a few hours, please contact the Hospice Fundraising Team on 01252 729446.
