Hospice Doctor invited to celebrate Queen’s Diamond Jubilee luncheon!

Dr Margaret Guy was one of the lucky few to be invited as a guest of the Worshipful Company of Barber Surgeons to the coveted Jubilee lunch at Westminster Hall on Tuesday 6 June. Representing the Hospice, Camberley based Dr Guy said, “It was an amazing experience to be in Westminster Hall and to meet the other guests on the day, I have worked at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice for 20 years and feel truly privileged to have been asked to represent the Hospice.” On the day of the event Dr Guy was one of only three people to be interviewed by BBC presenter Fiona Bruce and this was broadcasted to millions worldwide.

Sarah Brocklebank, Chief Executive, added, “The Worshipful Company of Barber Surgeons has a long standing relationship with the Hospice dating back to Sir Edward Tuckwell, who was a London surgeon and the husband of Phyllis Tuckwell. Without the continued support of the Barbers and our local community we would struggle to fundraise the £15,000 we need every day to keep the Hospice’s services available in your town free of charge. We are extremely proud of Dr Guy and the work she and her team do here at the Hospice”.
